Not a heckuva lot that really sticks out this week. However, I think there is teaser value in several of these games. In Edmonton you have a team that needs to win against a team that can't, won't, is in total turmoil, and ready for the season to be over. If only the Eskies could make me confident in their offence, I wouldn't have to tease this. Toronto has a good secondary, but it's the end of the year, they are beat down, even if they do perform, what is the offence going to do? One of the worst WR crops I have seen in a number of years. In this league, you are only as good as your Canadian players, and there is no better example than Toronto.
Second, I like two overs. In Montreal, Anthony Calvillo is back at the helm, and it's not to hand the ball off all day. They want to go into the playoffs on a high, and this is the beginning. It's hard to pick a side because of all the unknowns in this game, but what we do know is that both teams will air it out, and this looks to be a wide open game, much like a lot of Bombers games are turning into.
The other over is BC/Calgary, where Casey Printers is back. You better believe they are expecting him to be exciting in his first home start. His quick rise up the depth chart is half about marketing the guy to the home fans, which is why he was named starter for this game so early in the week. With him under centre the Lions suddenly have the capability to make big plays, and guys like Geroy Simon become even more valuable. Conversely, the Lions have been torched for an average of 37.5 points per game by the Stamps this year. This game should fly over as well.
Both picks are all small bets.
